Sleep Mask

I'm loving a new sleep mask I bought from my friend Kandi!
http://linenworld.com/kanditobin/

I was telling her I had a hard time sleeping when its light outside (like when I'm on third shift) and she recommended this handy little number....

Boy does it work! I got one in Blue and it really cuts all the light out and gives you a sense of peace and tranquility....well, ok that's just me talking... but hey! it works and that's all I needed!

First shift

I finally made it to first shift! I start on Sunday. I'll be missing Church but sleeping at night again with my beloved. ;-)

There's good news and bad news

The good news is that starting May 26th, I'm going on 1st shift! Whoo hoo!!!!

The bad news is that I have to work Sundays....which means no Church. This really sucks. I love going to Church, seeing my friends in Sunday School and listening to great music and great sermons. I can still go on Wednesday and Sunday nights if I choose, but its not the same. Not really. And I know me, there's a really really good chance I won't go.

Ooh! Ooh! Did I tell you I lost more weight? Now I weigh 193.8! Whoo Hoo!!!!!!

Ahhh...the bliss of a few days off

If it wasn't for laundry it would be perfect.

I just love days off...don't you? Days off are wonderful, especially when you have them ALL TO YOURSELF. I can go back to sleep if I want to. I can sit on the back porch and read if I want to. I can even peruse the internet all darn day and not do a thing if I want to - an no one is here to bother me! I just love my days off. I really do.

I also love this:

My two sweet babies... Aah...bliss!

I hate Mondays

But...but...today is Friday, right? Yes it is, but its "my" Monday. The way our days rotate at E-911, its my Monday. Right now, I hate Mondays because to everyone else en familia, its Friday - the weekend - only without me. Its really not all THAT bad except I end up sleeping half the day away while Vanilla Man and George wander around the house "trying" to be quiet (and not succeeding most of the time). I really hope this next month (June) I'm able to go to 1st shift. There is a hint of a rumor that I may and boy howdy, do I hope its true!

June will be my last month of training before I'm tossed to the wolves...I mean, citizens of this fine county. Supposedly you are asked which shift you want to work and they try their best to accommodate you, as long as shift requirements are met and all the planets are in alignment and Momma holds her mouth right. Everybody start praying now for 1st shift and maybe it'll happen!

On a happier note, I've lost 2 more pounds - yeah me!

You know...

I just finished reading a good book. It COULD have been a great book but for the heroine. You see, she was determined to be "independent" and "beholden to no man", and when she did finally end up with a prince of husband - she still had a hard time letting him be the man/protector in the relationship. Here's my question...WHY?

Maybe I'm abnormal, but I kind of like a man who's a MAN. A man who is willing to take care of me when I need it, who'll protect me when called for, who loves me simply because I'm me. What's so wrong with that? I'm not meaning a man who dominates or controls your every move but a man who is sure of himself, who isn't afraid to do what needs to be done and who loves "his woman" with a sense of possession. (NOT as a possession...you know what I mean)

My POV is that this is what's wrong with a lot of marriages these days. Granted, a good marriage should consist of equal partners but each partner has his or her role. I personally don't want a man who is PW. I don't want someone who's sensitive to my every need or wants to discuss our romance to death. I want a man! I want someone who works hard, who sometimes forgets I like red roses but not yellow ones, someone who'd rather love me at night than talk our relationship to death. I want someone to tell me "no" occasionally. ;-)

Call me old fashioned...but my grandparents were married for 60+ years. Can we say the same?

Tuesday Toot

So what have I accomplished this week? Hmmm....

1. I vacuumed the living room
2. I've made the bed every single day before hubby got home
3. I didn't freak out when my son had an accident
4. I read 3 books!
5. I managed not to maim/kill any of my co-workers (even the ones who needed killin')

Aren't I special? ;-)

This will make me feel better...I know it will

Hey, I'm married...not blind!
